Supplier diversity Plan

  1. Purpose:
To identify and develop successful business relationships with minority, women-owned and veteran enterprises to meet our business objectives while fostering economic growth within the communities in which these suppliers reside.

  2. Policy:
To ensure procurement of services from qualified suppliers belonging to all segments of the business community. Macrosoft, Inc. advocates the development and use of business enterprises controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals and women owned businesses as contractors, subcontractors and for the purchase of goods and services.

  3. Goal:
To provide maximum practical opportunities for minority, women owned, and veteran enterprises to become and remain suppliers of Macrosoft, resulting in increased expenditures with these suppliers.

  4. Definitions:

    1. Minority Business Enterprise (MBE): An organization that is:

      1. at least 51 percent unconditionally owned by one or more individuals who are both socially and economically disadvantaged. In the case of a publicly owned business, at least 51 percent of its stock must be unconditionally owned by one or more socially and economically disadvantaged individuals such as African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, Asian-Pacific Americans and Subcontinent Asian Americans.

      2. whose management and daily business operation is controlled by one or more such individuals.

    2. Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE):
An organization that is at least 51 percent owned, controlled and administered by a woman or women who are U.S. citizens. (Note: Controlled is defined as exercising the power to make policy decisions. Operated is defined as actively involved in day-to-day management.)

    3. Veteran Business Enterprises (VBE)

      1. A veteran who has served in the active military, naval or air services and who was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable. Active duty service is defined as active duty in the United States Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard for any length of time and at place home and abroad.

      2. To declare your firm as a veteran owned business, a veteran or group of veterans must have 51% ownership and control of the business.

  5. Program Execution:
There are several ways by which supplier diversity can be enhanced through effective relationship management. We define relationship management as the effort to identify, qualify, and even prepare MWDV/BE companies so as to enhance their ability to secure business relationships either directly with end-user customers or indirectly through collaboration with successful companies such as Macrosoft, Inc. We envision this relationship management to fall into one of the following three tiers:

Relationship Management Tier 1- Direct Referral:
Identifying and pre-qualifying various MWDV/BE companies that provide services or products which do not relate directly to Macrosoft’s specific service provisioning and are thus non-competitive in nature to our business. Once qualified, we actively seek to make referrals to our customer base, recommending these companies for direct service/product engagements with those companies.

Relationship Management Tier 2 – Mentoring:
Identifying and pre-qualifying various MWDV/BE companies that provide services or products which do not relate directly to Macrosoft’s specific service provisioning and are thus non-competitive in nature to our business. Once qualified, upon request of the MWDV/BE company, we shall begin a mentoring relationship – sharing certain intellectual and business knowledge - which will allow the company to better grow and develop in its quest for success in the business marketplace. These intellectual properties may include: IT infrastructure, successful bids and proposal preparation, marketing, financial, and operational strategies, etc.

Relationship Management Tier 3 – Joint Venture:
Identifying and pre-qualifying various MWV/BE companies that provide services or products which are directly related and thus complementary to Macrosoft’s strategic business objectives. Once qualified, we will actively engage those companies in either subcontracted relationships or through direct product/service relationships with our company.

  6. Leadership Commitment:
Our Executive Management Team is committed to our SDP as demonstrated by the following goals:
    • Placement of this SDP on our website that will include our Diversity policy as a means for interested companies to inquire about our program.
    • Our commitment to a nondiscriminatory policy with regards to qualified suppliers
    • Articles published in our monthly newsletter acknowledging our SDP plan to our customers success.
    • Networking with other companies involved in supplier diversity to get ideas on plan development and enhancements.
    • Identify and train all levels of Management personnel on our SDP
    • Periodic reviews with executive team to evaluate current SDP progress and proactively seek ways to improve results.

  7. Program Administrator:
Saman Ali, Director of Supplier Management, has overall responsibility for Macrosoft’s SDP. She will ensure the successful performance and tracking of plan objectives. She will also handle the monitoring of numbers and the performance and tracking of plan requirements and overall corporate goals.

  8. Program Administrator Goals:
Oversee Macrosoft’s efforts to aggressively pursue the IT, Telecommunications and Healthcare industries challenges for MWV/BE participation.
Facilitate Macrosoft’s continuing commitment to working with all our customers to ensure support of their ongoing diverse supplier strategies, objectives and goals.
Oversee Macrosoft’s administrative SDP process of identifying, classifying and tracking the results of our MWV/BE suppliers

  9. Program Administrator Responsibilities:
    For currently engaged MWDV/BE's suppliers:
  • Continue monitoring performance, quality and responsiveness of suppliers providing feedback regarding results.
  • Determine the gross amount of first tier dollars spent by Macrosoft with each supplier. Upon request, provide updates to our MWV/BE stakeholders (customers/vendor partners, Diverse Supplier Agencies).
  • Validate minority certification through State and National organizations.
  • Identify and implement initiatives to broaden the scope of opportunities for MWV/BE's
  • Gather data from Finance Department relative to our total spend.
  • Provide results, reports and updates to customer-base as requested.

    For potential MWV/BE suppliers:
  • Make Supplier Questionnaire available to potential suppliers
  • Collect the Questionnaire responses and determine which suppliers match requirements for MWV/BE status
  • Examine our product and services requirements for opportunities to include MWV/BE companies at any of the three SDP Relationship Management tiers.
  • If Relationship Management develops to tier 3 – Joint Venture, track the ensuing financial results

In summary, Macrosoft, Inc. is committed to making Supplier Diversity an integral part of our day to day business operation planning. We understand that as we engage with creative, responsive and qualified MBE partners we will improve our own internal organization which ultimately enhances Macrosoft's value proposition such that we are better positioned to meet, and even exceed, our end customer's needs and expectations.
