RPA Industry Trends Survey Report 2023

Macrosoft is a leader in providing professional technical services for Robotic Process Automation.  As a result of this expertise, Macrosoft conducted an industry best practices survey during May 2023. The survey was conducted using SurveyMonkey with 16 multiple-choice questions and a final open-ended question to identify other issues participants felt were missed in the report. Additionally, this survey report presents a comparative analysis with a similar survey conducted by Macrosoft in 2022.

Requests to complete the survey were distributed to our client contact list of 7000+ RPA professionals. Additionally, survey requests were published in several RPA LinkedIn user groups.

A total of 309 individuals from companies across the United States across all industries participated in the survey. 99% of the participants completed the entire survey. Based on the diverse group that was requested to complete the survey, the robust responses across multiple companies and industries, and the high full survey completion percentage there is strong reliability in the survey results.

Select findings in the RPA Survey include:

• Microsoft Power Automate and Automation Anywhere are the predominant applications being used for RPA amongst respondents.
• Processes that can be quantified in terms of measurable savings were ranked the best suited for implementation of RPA.
• Operations teams are leading the push in the RPA and then implementation of RPA is entrusted to the IT team in an organization.

The bottom line of the survey results, in our opinion, shows an industry in major flux, with sharp differences of views about the role of RPA applications in the present technology world.
